Year 10 - Design

The course will entail 5 periods per week, for 1 Semester, and will focus on developing students’ design skills. Your imagination, individuality and originality are encouraged. If you enjoy sketching and drawing, as well as thinking and talking about the design world – then this subject is for you! Students will participate in a range of projects in different fields, to develop their visual and creative thinking skills, by following the design process, and reviewing others’ designs.

 

MAIN ASSESSMENT TASKS

Projects can include: A T – Shirt Graphic Design; A Fashion Garment / Industrial Design; as well as a Short Written Task. Using a wide range of media, students will explore and present their ideas. They will develop skills in observational drawing and freehand drawing, instrumental drawing systems, as well as design using various computer programmes in the Adobe Design Package (like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
