Year 7 - Visual Arts

YEAR 7 VISUAL ART

All Students in Year 7 undertake a unit of Visual Arts for one semester, which, under the Victorian Curriculum, is divided into four learning areas: Exploring and Express Ideas, Visual Arts Practices, Present and Perform and Respond and Interpret.

Students generate design options from different sources of inspiration and use a variety of mediums, materials, processes and techniques. Students will have experience with both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional artwork.

Students research, examine and respond to the artwork of recognised artists and art styles to develop understanding of how design elements, cultural, environmental and historical influences affect artists in their practice.
