Year 11 - Outdoor & Environmental Studies Unit 1-2


Outdoor and Environmental Studies is a challenging and exciting subject, which combines practical experiences and theoretical knowledge of human interactions with natural environments.  If you have a passion for the outdoors, are seeking experiences that will push your out of your comfort zone and help you to fully appreciate the wonders of the natural world then this subject is most certainly for you!

  • Motivations for outdoor experiences
  • Experiencing outdoor environments
  • Investigating outdoor environments
  • Impacts on outdoor environments


The major Outdoor Experiences include:

  • 3 day Hiking Camp along the magnificent Great Ocean Walk
  • Seal and Dolphin Swims Snorkel Tour on Port Phillip Bay
  • 3 day Alpine Experience- Cross Country skiing at Mt Stirling

There is a levy of $350 per unit ($700 for the year). There is an expectation that each student must pay for and attend all camps as a part of meeting the outcomes of the course content.
