Year 8 - Mathematics

COURSE DESCRIPTION

In Year 8 all Maths classes follow the same syllabus as outlined in the AusVELS documents for the Mathematics domain. This means that we cover topics in the areas of Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and, Statistics and Probability.

MAIN ASSESSMENT TASKS

Students are assessed against the AusVELS standards using classroom observations, written tests and problem solving tasks. Open-ended tasks, with multiple entry levels for students of all abilities, are used to access and extend student learning.
