Year 8 - French

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Bonjour! Bienvenue!

French in Year 8 is a really fun course; continuing from year 7, finishing off Touché 1 before completing most of the units in Touché 2.

Students will study the following topics: pets and zoo animals, school subjects, telling the time, daily routine, days of the week, months of the year, saying the date, and household chores. They will develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a range of exciting activities. They will also be singing, completing online language activities, playing games, reading cartoon stories, and acting.

 

MAIN ASSESSMENT TASKS

Students will design a family photo album with captions, act out a role-play at the fortune-teller’s, answer comprehension questions about telling the time, and create an iMovie tour of the school.

 

RESOURCES AND EQUIPMENT

Students retain your Touché 1 coursebook ,workbook and exercise book from Year 7 and will also need to purchase Touché 2 coursebook and workbook.

 

STUDENT COMMENTS

‘I think that being able to speak another language will be good as it creates more opportunities like being an exchange student’.

‘It gives us the opportunity to travel overseas. We also do social activities to show us French culture, like French lunches and a French play’
