Year 8 - Design

Subject Description

This course is an introduction to design. It focuses on creative thinking and using images to communicate.

Learning the visual language and using the design process, you will develop your own individual solutions to design challenges.

You can experiment with various media, like: pencils, markers, pastels and watercolour.

You will learn how to draw in different ways – to observe objects, to visualise ideas and to present your finished designs. You will do freehand & using instruments, as well as design using technology.

You do not need to “be good at drawing” or “like art” to do well in this subject. A positive attitude and a willingness to follow ‘the process’ is all you need. There is no one right answer in design!
